About the guide
I grew up in this area not far away from the gates of the Carl Zeiss Company in the valley that is now called “The Optical Valley”. Since I have had a strong interest in foreign languages and countries I enjoyed working and living in England for a couple of months. During my time abroad I developed the idea of connecting my language skills with my secret passion for history and biographies.
Back in Jena, a historic place, where so much has happened, I found a large field of activity.
When I learned more about the different people who lived and worked here, I was touched by the sorrows they had to bear, strengthened by the courage they used to solve difficulties and inspired by so much mind, straightforwardness and urge for innovation.
Finally, in addition to my foreign language degree I earned a further certificate to work as a guide for this “my” town in 2006.
I look forward to meeting you at one of my tours.
