This is a chance to take part in a Discovery Tour where you will be asked to participate by collating, estimating, guessing and finding in association to five unique inventions made by Zeiss. You may also be asked to enjoy a glass of “clear-vision” up on the JenTower , the landmark of Jena, whilst listening to my tour guide. A stroll through Jena's exclusive residential district
- with a short rest at the restaurant "Landgrafen"

Accompany me on a walk through Jena's exclusive residential district to the hill Landgrafen. This area was largely spared from demage during the last war. On our way I will take you to places where the psychiatrists Otto Binswanger and Hans Berger lived and worked. They were well known and highly respected in Germany and beyond for their ground breaking work. After a short break where everyone can take in the splendid view of Jena, I will lead you to two houses built in the 1920's and designed by the architect of the Bauhaus, Walter Gropius.

Please be aware that the tour will take a path that includes 350 steps.

Guide to the three castles of Dornburg

Some kilometres away from the centre of Jena to the north I will escort you to three castles high on a cliff above the river Saale. The castles are from different periods, one of them had been a fortress in the early Middle Ages. One other, in Rococo Style, was built to amuse the nobility and the Duke of Weimar. The German poet Johann Wolfgang von Goethe also travelled to that place. Whilst enjoying the stunning view of the river Saale, you can probably see where and why he found the inspiration for his work.
Let us share that moment and finish by strolling through the rose and winegarden.
